Actor Vijay Deverakonda might soon begin work on his next Tamil film after the bilingual NOTA, his debut in Tamil by director Anand Shankar.
According to reports, the new film is also Tamil-Telugu bilingual directed by debutant Sri Karthik. Yogi Babu, Priyadharshini and Rahul Ramakrishna may play supporting roles.
It was speculated that SR Prabhu’s Dream Warrior Pictures, currently working on Suriya’s NGK, are this film’s producers. But SR Prabhu has denied this, and there is no official confirmation from the filmmakers either.
Another report suggests that the actor is being paid heavily for this film to bring him on board. The article also says his fans want him to think twice before signing up for the film, they’re pointing out that Mahesh Babu’s bilingual Spyder wasn’t a commercial hit.
Devarakonda is currently working on the Telugu film Dear Comrade, directed by Bharat Kamma. The film is a joint production by Mohan Cherukuri, Yash Rangineni, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili and Naveen Yerneni under Mythri Movie Makers. It stars Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Devarakonda together for the second time after their romantic comedy Geetha Govindam.
According to a report by Times of India, shoot for the film began a few months ago, and is progressing at a fast pace in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. Cinematography is by Sujith Sarang, and music is by Justin Prabhakaran. The film makers are planning for a summer release next year.
