Thimiru Pudichavan, which is produced by Vijay Antony Film Corporation, stars Vijay Antony, and Nivetha Pethuraj, while Lakshmy Ramakrishanan and Daniel Balaji will be seen playing pivotal roles. The film is titled as Roshagadu in Telugu. The teaser of the film, released earlier this month, has Vijay Antony as a rowdy cop similar to Chulbul Pandey from Salman Khan’s Dabangg film. While actress Nivetha Pethuraj is seen performing daredevil stunts unlike her usual characters in films.

A report in The New Indian Express, says that the actor has learnt the Tamil martial art silambam for the film. Talking about it, the director told TNIE, “As my protagonist is a cop, he’s got to be familiar with martial arts. The film will have plenty of power-packed action sequences. Vijay is a perfectionist; so he’s working round the clock to prepare for the role. Also, this is the first time, he’s playing a cop. He will be seen sporting a twirled moustache in the film.”

The film’s director Ganeshaa has previously assisted SS Rajamouli in Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The film which is scheduled to release on November 6 for Deepavali, competes with biggies like Vijay’s Sarkar directed by AR Murugadoss and Dhanush’s long delayed and much anticipated film Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. Vijay Antony’s previous outing – the psychological thriller Kaali, directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, was a box office failure.

Apart from this Vijay Antony also has Kolaikaran which is touted to be a crime thriller, directed by Andrew Louis of Leelai fame. After receiving much appreciation for his negative role in Irumbu Thirai, Arjun Sarja plays a pivotal role in Kolaikaran. Other cast and crew details are yet to be announced.

The music for the film is composed by Vijay Antony himself and cinematography is by Mukesh, an associate of PS Vinod. It is said that many in the technical team, including the editor and art director were part of Vikram Vedha.
