In a video posted on Twitter, Vidya Balan said she is excited for the release of the Tamil version and felt very happy and proud that Jyotika chose to play the same role she played in Sulu.

Kaatrin Mozhi will release on November 16. In an exclusive interview to Silverscreen, director Radhamohan talked about working with Jyotika years after Mozhi, and said he was looking for a script that would do justice to Jyotika. “The thought of working with her was at the back of my mind, but I knew there would be huge comparisons. I wanted a woman-centric script and for some spark to ignite. One day, Jo saw Tumhari Sulu, asked me to watch it, and said we could remake it if I was interested. And that’s how things fell in place,” he said.

Meanwhile, songs from the film have been slowly trickling out. On Monday, the ‘Jimikki Kammal‘ song from the movie was released, in which Jyotika can be seen dancing and celebrating. Dhananjayan, the film’s producer announced that GV Prakash will release the single ‘Dirty Pondatti’, with lyrics by Madhan Karky, later today.
