Vidaarth To Star With Jyothika In The Tamil Remake Of Tumhari Sulu

It was reported earlier that Jyothika will be reuniting with the Mozhi director Radha Mohan for the official Tamil remake of Bollywood film Tumhari Sulu, starring Vidya Balan. As per the latest report, Myna actor Vidaarth has joined the cast.

Vidaarth, who started off as a junior artiste, got his first big break in Myna, directed by Prabhu Soloman, then on, he has acted in many critically acclaimed movies like Kuttrame Thandanai, Oru Kidaiyin Manu and Kurangu Bommai. 

The Tamil remake rights for Tumhari Sulu is bought by G Dhananjayan of BOFTA Media Works India. They are also producing Mr. Chandramouli, starring Karthik, Gautham Karthik, Regina Cassandra, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and others, directed by Thiru.

The team is finalising the rest of the cast and crew and will share details soon. Tumhari Sulu released last year on November 17. The film is about a middle-class woman, who takes up the job of a late night radio jockey. Helmed by Suresh Triveni, the film was produced under the T-Series and Ellipsis Entertainment banners. The movie also stars Manav Kaul, Neha Dhupia and renowned RJ Malishka.

In an exclusive interview with Silverscreen, director Radha Mohan, talked about the remake, that there’s a lot of positivity surrounds the project. “Everything just fell into place. There’s a lot of positivity around this project; everyone has had only kind things to say,” explained the director. “Casting is very important for a film such as this, and I’m going to take my time. I don’t want to mis-cast even one role, because it is a performance-oriented film,” he added.
