‘Velvet Nagaram’ Trailer Shows Varalakshmi Sarathkumar As A Bold Journalist Investigating A Forest Fire

Velvet Nagaram Movie Stills Starring Varalaxmi Sarathkumar

Directed by debutant Manojkumar Natarajan, Velvet Nagaram is a women centric psychological thriller starring Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the lead. The trailer of the film released today.

In the one minute fifty second trailer, we see that the film is based on the forest fire in Kounji forest near Kodaikanal. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who is known for her bold characterization in films, plays a journalist. She reveals that the incident was not a forest fire but a planned attack.

Meanwhile, Ramesh Tilak and a group of gangsters go to her house, and attack her for money. For a few seconds there’s an action sequence – the reason for which is unknown – and then a voice over says, “Namma kola panna varala, kollai adikka vandhurukkom (We have not come here to kill. We came to smuggle).” Now we know the gangsters are in the house to steal, but their connection to the forest fire shown at the start is a suspense we’ll probably only learn from the film.
