Times of India cited a source close to the team saying “Trisha has been finalised as the female lead for the project. However, the actress is yet to sign on the agreement officially. Prem Kumar had narrated the script to Sethupathi months ago, and he was impressed with it. Trisha’s role will be a solid performance-oriented one. The rest of the cast and crew is yet to be finalised.” The film will be produced by Nandhagopal.

Prem Kumar and Vijay Sethupathi have worked together before, on films like Sundarapandian and Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom. Prem Kumar was the cinematographer on these films, as well as Pasanga. It should be noted Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom was based on an incident that happened at Prem Kumar’s wedding.
