Trailer of Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi’s Documentary Series ‘Tamizhi’ Out

Actor, composer, director Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi will now be producing a research-based documentary series called Tamizhi, about the evolution of Tamil writing script. The trailer of the documentary released yesterday, on the 136th birth anniversary of the Tamil poet Subramania Bharati.

The three-minute trailer talks about Tamil script and language. The documentary is said to bring out facts about the language which did not get its place in history. The trailer feature researchers and archaeologists who are offering historical evidence of Tamil as one of the oldest languages in the world.

Produced and Narrated by Aadhi, the concept and direction for the documentary is by Pradeep Kumar. The project is a part of the Tamizhanda Movement initiative, written and researched by Elango. Music for the series, which will also feature live tracks and recordings, is by Hiphop Tamizha. The eight episode documentary series is expected to released in early 2019.

Aadhi’s last film was Meesaya Murukku, a biopic on him, directed by him. He will also star in debutant director Parthiban Desingu’s Natpe Thunai, as a hockey player. Produced by Sundar C, the movie also has Karu Palaniappan in an important role.

A spokesperson to the film told Silverscreen, “Hockey is our national sport. This film is a tribute to the sportsmen and women who play the game. It is also our intention to honour the game which has not attained the fame that other games have at a national level.”

In Natpe Thunai music is again by Hip Hop Tamizha. Aadhi and Jeeva have composed eight unique songs for the film. Audio launch may happen this year end, the spokesperson said.

Actor Anaka makes her debut in this film, and has a strong role,  the spokesperson said. Actors Pandiarajan, Kousalya, Vigneshkanth, Erumasaani fame Vijay, Harish Uthaman, Shaara, and Bijili Ramesh have important roles. Release date is yet to be announced.
