DNA reports that Vipin Tiwari, of Teetri productions, said that his Rajasthani-language film Laadli has a song called “Hans Mat Pagli”. Vipin says that the film received a clearance from the CBFC, and the Indian Film and TV Production Council also recognises that he has a copyright over the song.

“One of the famous songs in the movie, ‘Hans Mat Pagli Pyar Ho Jaega’ was approved in the favor of us by IFPTC and till date its registration is with us,” Tiwari said. The filmmaker has sent a notice to the Toilet – Ek Prem Katha makers for copyright violation, and has sent a copy of the notice to the IFTPC.

Tiwari said, “Toilet- Ek Prem Katha in its promo is screening the very song without permission of us. Also, the song of Akshay’s movie has similar picturisation of the scene on Holi festival in Braj area which is similar to the picturisation in Laadli.” Vipin Tiwari is asking Neeraj Pandey and the TEPK team to remove the song and its video from the film.

The IFTPC has asked Neeraj Pandey’s Friday Filmworks to send a written response to the notice in three days time, and said that otherwise, the matter would be referred to the Disputes Settlement.

This is not the first such issue to hit Toilet – Ek Prem Katha. Silverscreen earlier reported that filmmaker Praveen Vyas had issued a notice to the film and its distributors and claimed claims that scenes and dialogues had been lifted from his film Manini.
