National Award winner, cinematographer Tirru will join the crew of Sundar C’s big-budget film Sanghamitra, says a report in Maalaimalar. According to early reports, Bombay based Sudeep Chatterjee was signed on to be the Director of Photography, but he has now been replaced with Tirru.

Sanghamitra, produced by Thenandal Films, and directed by Sundar C, is being made at a cost of about Rs. 300 crores, drawing comparisons with Baahubali. Shruti Haasan, Jayam Ravi and Arya play lead roles, with music by A R Rahman. Reports suggest that Sundar C originally wanted Suriya to be a part of the film, but he refused. Vijay was then offered the role, but it eventually landed on Jayam Ravi.
Tirru recently won the National Award for Cinematography, for his work on the film 24.
