The one-minute teaser gives us a quick glimpse of what’s there in store for the audience. There’s a UN treaty that bars the use of nuclear weapons beyond 20 kilo tonnes. Soon questions of national security crops up.

“We will not tolerate any form of attack within the Indian borders,” is announced at a press conference, with the scene soon shifting to a smirking Jayam Ravi and his deck of cards, particularly highlighting the Joker.

Guns are loaded, Ravi does a few magic tricks, and the music suddenly stops with the sound of a child wailing, “Appa!”

The scene quickly resembles something straight out of Sandra Bullock’s Gravity, where she was floating in space for a long time. Ravi, too, appears to be floating around, drifting somewhere in space with no tethering around.

Tik Tik Tik will have Ravi’s six-year-old son Aarav make his acting debut. Directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan, the film stars Arjun Nandhakumar, Nivetha Pethuraj and Ramesh Tilak, who all play astronauts.

Director Shakti Soundar Rajan loves to experiment, and his previous film Miruthan, starring Jayam Ravi, fell in the zombie genre and was well received. Tik Tik Tik is scheduled to hit the screens in September. Jayam Ravi will move on to Sanghamitra after this shoot.
