Art director Thota Tharani plays Swami Chinmayananda in The Quest, a biopic directed by RS Prasanna. The National Award winner was reportedly signed on for the role because of his ‘astonishing resemblance’ to the late Swamiji. While Thota Thatani will play the ‘older Swamiji’ and will appear in the second half, a young monk called Sandeep is essaying the role of the younger Chinmayananda. The project, financed by Chinmaya Mission, was completed in five months time. The director and his team shot across various locations including Gurgaon, Himalayas and Kerala.
The Quest is the story of a man and his journey to discover truth and God. It is 90-minutes long and will primarily be screened at film festivals. Siddharth Nuni has cranked the camera while Arrora has composed the music.
