Jewellery worth a Crore and half has gone missing from the sets of Anushka Shetty’s Telugu period drama Rudrama Devi. The antique gold and diamond jewellery was placed in a caravan on the sets during a break in shooting. When one of the assistants went to check on it, the items were nowhere to be found. The movie’s director Gunasekar has registered a complaint with the local police station. Investigation is currently on and the police have zeroed in on three suspects. A week on from the incident, the jewellery has not been recovered yet. But the director is confident that it will be found soon.
Rudrama Devi has Anushka Shetty in the titular role along with Telugu stars Rana Daggupati and Allu Arjun. The film has the music by Ilaiayaraja and has been shot on sets designed by Thotta Tharani. Made with a budget of around 60 crores, the film will hit the screens this October.
