Gaana singer and participant of Super Singer reality show Kapish Poovaiyaar joins Thalapathy 63. Shoot for the Vijay starrer directed by Atlee is happening on full swing.
According to reports, Kapish has a key role as an actor in the film, and will also be singing a song. Music is composed by AR Rahman, with lyrics by Vivek. The film is reportedly not a usual sports drama, but an investigative thriller with sports elements.
Recently, Chennai’s famous Napier’s bridge was recreated at a popular studio in the city. It is said that set work has already begun, and the recreated bridge looks like the original one. Some set work for the film also happened at Binny mills.
Vijay will be dancing with a thousand children for the opening song of the film. An official confirmation regarding this is yet to be made. Reports also said that Thalapathy 63 is about football players who get selected to the Indian Football team, and get killed one by one. The blame falls on the coach, played by Vijay, who goes in search of the real culprit.

Thalapathy 63 is the actor and director’s third collaboration after Theri and Mersal. It features a big star cast with Nayanathara, Kathir, Vivekh, Yogi Babu and many others. Pitched as a “mass entertainer with superior technical crew and the best production values”, the film is produced by Archana Kalapthi under the banner AGS Entertainments.
Director Atlee has retained his previous film Mersal‘s team, with editor Antony Ruben, stunt director Anal Arasu, and art director Muthuraj. Sources suggest that Aalaporaan Tamizhan, a song from Mersal, is the title being considered.
