‘Thadam’ Trailer Review: Arun Vijay Is Back On Screen With A Fast-Paced Thriller

Arun Vijay, who starred in Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, is back on screen with Thadam, directed by Magizh Thirumeni. The second trailer of the film released recently.

The trailer promises a nail-biting investigative story that reveals the dark side of Arun Vijay’s character in the film. He looks tough as the dialogue, Poramai, kovam, verupu,” is heard. The film is a racy thriller with cops trying to investigate a murder which happens in the open, but there is no witness or evidence. The romantic side of Arun Vijay’s character is also shown.

The trailer says that the movie is based on true stories. Director Magizh is said to have made an effort to examine the human nature that pushes one to commit a crime. Yogi Babu, who has already been a part of a number of movies this year, makes an appearance here too. In fact, he occupies the closing shot of the trailer suggesting a significant role for him in the film.

The film marks the second collaboration of Arun Vijay and Magizh Thirumeni after their action thriller Thadaiyara Thaakka, which released in 2012. Produced by Inder Kumer, the film has three heroines in the lead – Tanya Hope, Vidya Pradeep and Smruthi Venkat. Thadam also stars Smruthi Venkat, Sonia Aggarwal and Vidya Pradeep in important roles. Newcomer Arun Raj has scored music, and cinematographer Gopinath has shot the thriller.

Thadam, which literally translates to ‘imprint’, also has choreographer-turned-actor FEFSI Vijayan and Meera Krishnan in key roles. The film was initially scheduled to release on February 22. It will now said hit screens on March 1.
