The film was initially set for a January release in 2018, but has now been postponed to April. The film is directed by Shankar and has music composed by AR Rahman.

According to reports, RGV has registered two titles – Gun and System, however official announcement on the title is yet to be made.

“I am extremely excited that I am doing a film with Nagarjuna after nearly 25 years but contrary to some uninformed media speculations, this new film is nothing to do with Shiva, neither in character nor in story content,” Varma had earlier posted on his Facebook page.
