An upcoming Telugu actress has come out in the open and alleged that director Chalapathi and actor Srujan had tried raping her in a moving car recently. With her accounts being eerily similar to the abduction and assault of a Malayalam actress in February this year, the actress even mentioned how she was threatened if she filed a complaint against them.
According to The Times of India, the unnamed actress filed a police complaint on Tuesday, accusing both of attempt to rape. The complaint was lodged at the Patamala Police Station in Vijayawada.
In her complaint, the actress alleged that both of them took her in a car under the pretext of going for a shoot in Bheemavaram. But on the way, they attempted to rape her in the car.

“We were supposed to reach Bheemavaram from Hyderabad on August 13, and I was planning to catch a train. However, the director and the hero insisted that we travel in my car. As we approached Vijayawada, they tried to misbehave with me. When I protested, they assaulted me. They threw me in the backseat. To ensure that I don’t jump out of the car, they drove fast, but ended up smashing my vehicle against a lorry. That same night, I shared my location with some friends, who rushed here immediately. Following that, I have come to the police station to file a complaint.”
The duo went on to blackmail her and even told her that her career would get ruined if she spoke about it. The police have registered a case, charging the accused with Section 279 of the IPC, for rash driving and damaging a woman’s vehicle. Following the complaint, the director has been taken into custody, but Srujan is on the run.
