Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has joined the Hindi film Bole Chudiyan, co-starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead. The film marks the directorial debut of Nawazuddin’s brother Shamas Siddiqui..
Tamannaah reportedly said in a statement, “I’m looking forward to this project. The script is good, and this is the first time I will be attempting such a multi-layered character in a mainstream Bollywood film. What really caught my attention was the story, which revolves around a relevant issue.”

The film also stars Anurag Kashyap, reportedly in a cameo. He said, “Yes, I am doing the film, but that’s all I know for now. I have agreed to do the film as this is the first time Nawaz has asked me to do anything, and I trust him.”
Actress Mouni Roy initially signed up to play the lead opposite Nawazuddin, but walked out of the project last month citing differences with the producers. The producers said in a statement that she was unprofessional and did not turn up on time for meetings, and so, they had asked her to quit. Earlier, it was also reported that Shraddha Kapoor was part of the project, but this was not officially announced.
The film is produced by Rajesh and Kiran Bhatia of Woodpecker Movies and will be entirely shot in Rajasthan. Shoot is likely to begin soon.
Tamannaah was last seen in Khamoshi in Hindi and Devi 2 in Tamil. She has the Telugu film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy under production, and This Is Mahalakshmi, the Tamil remake of Queen, which is expected to release soon. Her untitled film with director Sundar C, and the Tamil remake of Anando Brahma are also in the pipeline.
Meanwhile, Tamannaah signed up for the woman-centric film Raju Gari Gadhi 3 and also announced the film’s launch on Twitter recently. However, the latest reports have it that she has walked out of the film claiming that the filmmakers have altered the story without informing her or her team, and that she does not agree with the revisions to the script.
Nawazuddin Sidiqqui, last seen in Tamil as the villain in the Rajinikanth-starrer Petta, and in Photograph in Hindi, is also part of Raat Akeli Hai, which is under production.
