Superstar’s Kochadaiiyaan comes out on April 2014

Soundarya R Ashwin’s dream project with her father, Superstar Rajinikanth will finally hit the screens on April 11 this year. Kochadaiiyaan – The Legend, an animated venture with Deepika Padukone in the lead has been plagued by issues – technical and otherwise. With a huge star cast including Jackie Shroff, Shobana, Nasser among others, the fantasy epic  has now become one of the most anticipated movies in 2014.

The trailer for the movie was released to a lot of fanfare last year but drew mixed reactions from the actor’s die hard fans. Similarities between the Kochadaiiyaan trailer and Soundarya’s shelved project Sultan-the warrior, made everybody sit up and wonder. Putting all the rumours to rest, Soundarya said, “I stopped my first movie Sultan because I was not very satisfied with how the movie turned out. It has absolutely nothing to do with Kochadaiiyaan. The story and script are by KS Ravikumar and it is completely different from Sultan in every way possible. “

Produced by Eros International, the movie has used the latest technology in 3D Motion capture and has been made on a huge budget of over 120 crore rupees. The soundtrack for the movie has been composed by AR Rahman, with the highlight being the song with vocals by the Superstar himself. The audio is expected to be launched by the end of this month.
