Sundar C will act in a horror comedy and not direct it. Titled Iruttu, the film has VZ Durai at the helm and is being promoted as a ‘dark and gritty horror film’.
For Sundar C, who has added Aranmanai and its sequel to the horror bandwagon, this new film must be a cake walk.
Director VZ Durai, however, disagrees. “Iruttu is a completely new film that will have Sundar sir in a new avatar. I have always wanted to make a horror film without ghosts or demons. And this movie is my attempt at making this wish come true.”
Sundar C has serious work to do in his movie, says Durai. “There won’t be needless entertainment and so the pressure is on the performers to pull off the role.”
Sundar C was a very understanding and cooperative actor, VZ Durai said. “He has never given me unsolicited advice on how to make the film. Being such a popular director, he has never once suggested any alterations to the script,” he added.
Dhanshika is the female lead of this movie. “She is such a talented performer and is truly adding more layers to her character with the way she has interpreted it. ”
Music is by Girish Gopalakrishnan, while cinematography is by E Krishnaswami. About 85 per cent of the film has been completed in one schedule. Durai is waiting for Sundar C, who is currently filming his next with Silambarasan, to shoot the remaining portion of the movie.
Sakshi Parvinder, VTV Ganesh have central roles in this film that is expected to release later this year.
