SJ Suryah’s Next To Be Produced By Pa Ranjith?

Actor SJ Suryah may be collaborating with Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Productions for his next film, to be directed by a newcomer. Official announcements are expected soon, according to reports.

A source close to the production told Silverscreen that the news cannot be confirmed as yet. SJ Suryah is currently busy with Monster which is scheduled to release on May 17. His films Nenjam Marappathillai directed by Selvaraghavan, and Iravaakaalam by Ashwin Saravanan, are in the pipeline. Work on Uyarntha Manithan, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, is also on in full swing.

Director Pa Ranjith is currently busy with production work for his upcoming directorial in Hindi, based on tribal leader Birsa Munda. Shoot for his second production after the successful Pariyerum Perumal directed by Mari Selvaraj, wrapped up recently. Titled Irandamulaga Porin Kadaisi Gundu, the film is directed by Athiyan Athirai, and features actor Dinesh. Release announcements are expected soon.

Ranjith’s third production venture was also announced last month. The film will be directed by Suresh Mari, who has worked on Kaala and Kabali. Actor Aravind Akash is likely to play the lead, along with Ranjith’s regular collaborator, actor Kalaiyarasan. Suresh Mari confirmed the project to Silverscreen and said that the film was in initial stages. “Script work is on and it’s too early to reveal anything about the story. Announcements will definitely be made by Ranjith, and an update can be expected soon.”

He added that the genre of the film was comedy, and the team associated with Ranjith in the past will be part of this film too. About the cast, he said, “I thought Kalaiyarasan was required for the story, so I suggested his name. I am also looking for actors to play the other characters.” Kalaiyarasan also said, “I’m definitely acting in the film, but I can’t reveal anything about my character yet. Last time I met Suresh anna we decided on a few changes to the script, so the re-work is going on.”
