Sivakarthikeyan, who is currently working on a handful of projects, has signed his next film with director Pandiraj. It will be produced by Sun Pictures, and is tentatively titled as SK16.
An official announcement was made by the production house, who recently bankrolled Vijay’s Sarkar and Rajnikanth’s Petta one after the other.

Director Pandiraj, whose last venture was the Karthi-starrer Kadai Kutty Singam, is joining hands with Sivakarthikeyan for the second time. Interestingly, it was Pandiraj who introduced Sivakarthikeyan into cinema with his film Marina.
Last seen in the rural entertainer Seemaraja, which released in 2018, actor Sivakarthikeyan is currently awaiting the release of director M Rajesh’s film titled Mr Local. It stars Nayanthara in the lead, and is speculated to be a remake of actor Nani’s Telugu hit Nenu Local. Director Rajesh has, however, denied this and said that the film is loosely based Vasu’s Mannan, which starred Rajinikanth, Khushboo, and Vijayshanthi.
Mr Local is produced by Studio Green, with music composed by HipHop Tamizha. Dinesh Krishnan is the cinematographer and Vivek Harshan is the editor.

On the work front, Sivakarthikeyan has resumed shooting for his upcoming film with director Ravi Kumar, as announced on Twitter earlier this week. The film is said to be a science fiction, and rumours say that it was put on hold due to budget constraints. Rakul Preet Singh stars as the female lead, in the role of an astronomer.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan also has a project with director PS Mithran, who made his debut with Vishal’s Irumbu Thirai. The upcoming film will have Kalyani Priyadarshan, daughter of veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan, making her Tamil debut as the female lead. Arjun Sarja also has a crucial role in the film, rumoured to be titled Hero.
Sivakarthikeyan’s next production venture is with debut director Karthik Venugopal, starring VJ Rio in the lead. Karthik is a popular YouTuber who gained fame with his channel Black Sheep Tamil. A spokesperson for this film told Silverscreen that Sivakarthikeyan might also star in the film. This has not been confirmed yet.
