Shruti Haasan, who has been busy hosting television shows, is said to be in talks to star in Chiranjeevi’s historical drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.
According to a report in a Tamil daily, the makers of the film are planning to cast Shruti, and talks are on. It is also said that she is being considered for a substantial role. It is presumed that she will take up the offer, as she has not had a release in the past two years. However, an official confirmation is yet to come in this regard.
Earlier, it was reported that Shruti has signed a romantic drama with Vijay Sethupathi, directed by National Award-winning director SP Jananathan. The director is known to make films with hard-hitting themes and strong female leads, and Vijay Sethupathi keeps experimenting with genres.
Shruti also has an yet-to-be-titled Hindi film directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and the Tamil-Telugu-Hindi Sabash Naidu directed by Kamal Haasan himself, after original director TK Rajeev Kumar took ill with Lyme disease when shooting in the US. The film is a spy-comedy adventure, where Kamal Haasan reprises the role of Balram Naidu, a spin off of one of the characters he played in Dasavathaaram (2008). The film also stars Ramya Krishnan and Brahmanandam.
Directed by Surender Reddy, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is a biopic on freedom fighter Narasimha Rao from Uyyalawada, Kurnool. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nayanthara, Sudeep, Jagapathi Babu, Pragya Jaiswal, Tamannaah Bhatia and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles. Sethupathi reportedly plays a Tamil king in the film. The film is said to hit the screens during Dussehra.
