Shriya Pilgaonkar Replaces Kalki Koechlin In Haathi Mere Saathi

Shriya Pilgaonkar has replaced Kalki Koechlin in Haathi Mere Saathi. Directed by Prabhu Solomon, the movie features Pulkit Samrat, Rana Daggubati, Zoya Hussain and Vishnu Vishal.

A trilingual, Haathi Mere Saathi is a film that revolves around the relationship between man and elephant. According to Indian Express, the actress’ spokesperson has confirmed her participation in the project. Best known for her appearance in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan, she was last seen in the Amazon Series Mirzapur.

Haathi Mere Saathi releases as Kaadan in Tamil and Aranya in Telugu. The shooting for the movie is currently under progress in Kerala. Rana Daggubati who plays a mahout in the movie took to social media to share information regarding the shoot for the movie.

In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, the actor opened up about his role, “Yes, I’ll need to do more for this film. I’ll be taking 15-20 days before the shoot to stay with the elephants in the jungle and get familiar with them before I start filming. At the same time, we are also doing a bunch of workshops because the story is inspired by two events, so we are trying to get as authentic as we can in the filming process.”

About the movie’s title, he said “It is a tribute to the old classic but nothing in terms of the script or content is similar, It works on the ideologies of elephants and human being friends.”

The film is produced by Inder Singh Bariya, Omshankar Bhagat, Ajay Rai and Sushil Tirwadkar under the banner of Trinity Pictures. Eros International will distribute the movie. Shantanu Moitra is the music composer. Oscar award-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty – he previously worked on the Malayalam movie Pazhassi Raja that was partially set in forests, is also part of the crew for Haathi Mere Saathi.
