Shooting Wrapped Up For Mahesh Babu-Starrer ‘Maharshi’

The shooting for Maharshi, Mahesh Babu’s 25th film, wrapped up yesterday. The actor took to social media to share the news, and also reminded viewers that the movie releases on May 9.

The first song from the movie, titled ‘Everest Anchuna’, also featuring Pooja Hegde, who plays the female lead, is scheduled to release this evening.

Mahesh Babu reportedly plays five roles with different looks in the film. Allari Naresh is also a part of the cast, and Jayaprada plays a prominent role in the movie. The film is directed by Vamshi Paidipally of Oopiri fame, and produced by Dil Raju, Ashwini Dutt and Prasad V Potluri for Sri Venkateswara Creations, Vyjayanthi Cinemas and PVP Cinema, respectively. KU Mohanan handles cinematography, and Devi Sri Prasad is the music composer.

The film was previously scheduled to release on April 25. This is the third time the movie has shifted release dates. “The reason for the change in date is because we don’t want to compromise on quality. Director Vamshi Paidipally has written the best script in his career and he needs enough time to achieve what he has envisioned,” a report quotes Dil Raju as saying.

Another issue that was being discussed is that the actor’s May releases have never fared well. This was a major concern for fans too. And, Dil Raju addressed this. “Our film is co-produced by Ashwini Dutt, whose biggest hit Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari was released on May 9. Many of our productions too were released in the month of May and became hits.”

The trailer of the film released earlier this month. It showed Mahesh Babu as a person who is obsessed with winning. It also showed him in three distinct looks and situations.

The actor’s previous release was the superhit Bharat Enu Nenu, which co-starred Kiara Advani and was directed by Koratala Siva.
