Nayanthara, who recently completed 15 years as an actor, has wrapped shoot for her next horror-thriller Airaa directed by Sarjun KM.
The news was officially announced by the film’s production house on twitter. They also said that a teaser will release soon.

Airaa is produced by KJR studios, who had earlier financed Nayanthara’s Aramm. She reportedly plays a dual role in Airaa. Music is composed by KS Sundaramurthy who is known for his work in 8 Thottakal. Yogi Babu and Kalaiarasan have important roles in the film.
Director Sarjun spoke to the The News Minute and said, “After Maa released, I got a call from Rajesh sir (Kotapadi J Rajesh of KJR Studios), he asked me if I had a one-liner for Nayanthara. He added that they preferred a horror drama. He heard the story I had in mind, and then made me sit with Nayanthara who liked it too. In fact, she had liked Maa a lot.”

Sarjun also spoke about the various horror films that release every year. Very few films are memorable, and that will change, Sarjun promised.
“Several horror dramas release every year. But except for a few like Pisaasu and Aval, there aren’t many memorable films. If a particular theme or idea succeeds, people start repeating that a lot in their films. Things get very bland and monotonous. But, someone is sure to break that spell,” he said.
Nayanthara will also be seen in the thriller Kolayuthir Kaalam, directed by Chakri Toleti. She plays the female lead in Ajith’s Viswasam directed by Siva, in Sivakarthikeyan’s yet-to-be titled film by director Rajesh, in the Malayalam film Love Action Drama, directed by Dhyan Sreenivasan, and in the Telugu period drama, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.
