D Imman At The Provoke Awards 3.0

Music composer D Imman has brought onboard veteran playback singer-music director Shankar Mahadevan’s son Shivam to sing a song for the upcoming Jiiva-starrer Seeru. The film is touted to be a commercial entertainer directed by Rathna Siva and has Majnu fame Riya Suman essaying the female lead. Lyricist Viveka has penned the lyrics for the song.

D Imman took to Twitter to announce the news.

“It’s a delight to work with someone who hails from the most extolled family of music. Moreover, it happens that most of the children of reigning playback singers have some of their parent’s influence in vocalisms, but Shivam excels with his uniqueness and I am sure, the Tamil music industry is going to celebrate his voice. Hopefully, with god’s blessings, I desire to have the father (Shankar Mahadevan) and sons Siddarth-Sivam combo one day,” Imman said.

D Imman had recently identified Thirumurthy, a musician with visual impairment, who went viral on social media for his beautiful rendition of ‘Kannaana Kanne’ from the Ajith-starrer Viswasam. The composer has promised him a song in one of his forthcoming albums for his remarkable voice. Thirumurthy recently shared the stage with D Imman at the Behindwoods Gold Mic Awards and also received appreciation from the Namma Veetu Pillai team on television.

The composer had also asked Vijay TV Kalakka Povathu Yaaru fame Naveen to perform an intro mimicry act for a song in the Vijay Sethupathi starrer Laabam.

Seeru is being bankrolled by Dr. Ishari K Ganesh under his Vels Film International banner. Actors Navdeep and Varun have been roped in for prominent roles. Prasanna S Kumar is handling cinematography, Lawrence Kishore will be editing, K Sampath Thilak is the art director, K Ganesh Kumar is choreographing stunts and Raju Sundaram is choreographing the dance. The movie has been shot in Chennai, Kumbakonam, and Mayavaram and will hit screens soon.

Meanwhile, Imman who composed music for Namma Veetu Pillai last, will be composing for director Siva’s Suriya 39, Thalaivar 168, Lakshman’s Bhoomi, SP Jananathan’s Laabam, Santhosh P Jayakumar’s Pulanaaivu, Vivek’s Boxer and Shakthi Soundar Rajan’s Teddy. Just recently, his compositions from AC Mugil Chellapan’s Pon Manickavel and Suseenthiran’s Angelina dropped.
