According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the actress and her driver for two years, Darshan Sawant, were travelling from Versova to Brahmand when the accident occurred. “When they had reached the Cadbury bridge, her car was dashed by another car from behind. Later, the other driver cornered the actor’s vehicle and forced them to stop near Viviana Mall,” said a police official of the Rabodi station.

Once the driver got out of the vehicle, the driver and passengers of the vehicle began to abuse and assault him. The vehicle used by the assailants belonged to a cab-aggregator service. “There were three people in the car, I noted down its number,” said the 29-year-old driver.

As instructed by the actress, he drove to the nearest police station where a complaint was lodged under various sections of the IPC. The police have registered a case and are trying to track down the accused based on CCTV footages and the registration number of the car.
