Sathyaraj May Be Part Of Jeethu Joseph’s Film With Jyotika And Karthi

Sathyaraj may star in Malayalam director Jeethu Joesph’s upcoming Tamil film with Jyotika and Karthi. Reports indicate the two play siblings in the film. According to a report in Cinema Express, Sathyaraj has been roped in to play the father of the characters essayed by Jyotika and Karthi. Talking to Silverscreen, director Jeethu Joseph refused to confirm or deny the news. While he said that certain decisions regarding the casting were yet to be made final, he added that an official announcement could be expected in the coming days.

However, he had earlier confirmed to Silverscreen that Anson Paul was part of the cast. “Yes, he is a part of the project. We can’t reveal details about his character yet,” the director had said. Anson Paul was last seen as Oviya’s boyfriend in 90 ML. He had worked with Jeethu Joseph in Oozham (2016) and has just completed the shoot for his portions of The Gambler.

Shoot for the film is likely to begin by the end of April. “Work on the script will be complete in a week or so. We are in pre-production right now, and I’m on recce in Goa. The locations haven’t been finalised yet,” said the director.

Jeethu Joseph, known for films such as Drishyam, Memories and My Boss, directed Papanasam, the Tamil remake of Drishyam, in 2015. Kamal Haasan and Gautami reprised Mohanlal and Meena’s roles from the original. Ghibran composed the music, and the film released to a good response in Tamil Nadu.

This film marks the first collaboration between Jyotika and Karthi; Jyotika is married to Karthi’s brother Suriya. Viacom 18 will bankroll the film along with Jyotika’s brother Suraj. Karthi will begin work on this film after completing his untitled film with Remo director Bakkiyaraj Kannan. Karthi recently completed work on action-thriller Kaithi, directed by director Lokesh Kanagaraj of Maanagaram fame.
