Santhanam, best known for his comic roles, will play an action hero for the first time in his career with a new film directed by Santhanam’s close associate Sethuraman. The film also stars Vaibhavi Shandilya, Santhanam’s co-star from Server Sundaram.
According to the actor’s spokesperson, Santhanam signed the film as soon as the script was narrated to him, “The movie will showcase a new side of Santhanam. He will leave his comedian past completely, once the audience see him onscreen.” With an action role under his belt, Santhanam will look to cement his place as one of Tamil cinema’s leading heroes today.

Ganesh (Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya), who has a major role in the film, will produce the film under his home banner, VTV Productions. Speaking to Silverscreen.in, Ganesh said he also feels that this role would transform Santhanam’s image, “We have planned different stunts for Santhanam in the movie. It is essentially a romantic film, but Santhanam will get to show off his action side too.”
The supporting cast also includes Robo Shankar. The film went on floors earlier this week.
