Actor Sanjay Bharathi is making his first directorial with Harish Kalyan in the lead. The film is titled Dhanusu Raasi Neyargale, and will begin shoot after elections in Tamil Nadu this month.
Speaking to Silverscreen, Sanjay Bharathi said, “The protagonist works in the automobile industry. He strongly believes in astrology and the film revolves around that. The title refers to one of the star signs, and Dhanush Raasi Neyargale is something we hear astrologers say in the mornings on TV. It’s a catchy title.” He also added Harish’s character is true to the bow-arrow symbol of Dhanusu Raasi, “The film is about how he achieves goals and gets past difficulties. It is a fun-filled family entertainer.”
Sanjay also said that he had envisioned this film as his first directorial, “I thought I should make a film in which I reflect on what I’ve done, seen and heard so far. All of that comes together in the film and its characters, who the audience will be able to relate to.”
The film will star two female leads, and talks are on for both the parts. Music for the movie is by Ghibran and production is by Sree Gokulam Movies, who have bankrolled many big budget Malayalam films including the recent Nivin Pauly starrer Kayamkulam Kochunni.
More details about the film will be announced once there is a confirmation, said the director.
This morning, actor Harish Kalyan announced the title on Twitter. He said, “My next film after Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum has been titled Dhanusu Raasi Neyargale. This is a jolly and fun-filled film directed by my friend Sanjay Bharathi.”

The film is believed to be along the lines of Harish Kalyan’s previous films Pyaar Prema Kaadhal and Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum. Sanjay Bharathi, who has acted in films like Puthagam, Jannal Oram and more, is now the second director from his family after his father, actor-director Santhana Bharathi. He is also the grandson of actor MR Santhanam.
