Samantha Ruth Prabhu has joined director Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s next film. The film, which doesn’t have a title yet, also has actors Vijay Sethupathi and Fahad Faasil in the lead cast. According to reports, filming will begin in 2017. Thiagarajan Kumararaja is likely to produce the film himself.
This is Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s second film after his debut directorial Aaranya Kaandam (2011), a gangster film revolving around the inadvertent theft of a bag of cocaine. For the next five years, Kumararaja went on to work as a script consultant. He is also credited with improving Yennai Arindhaal’s screenplay.
Interestingly, while from Samantha’s side the news of her casting has been confirmed, the director has neither confirmed nor denied these reports. “Nothing is confirmed or official yet. I am in discussions with people, and there’s nothing more to add to it,” he told Silverscreen.in.

According to Samantha’s spokesperson however, “Samantha loved the role in the film, and will join it after she wraps up her current commitments.”
The actress has also signed Sivakarthikeyan–Ponram’s third film together. She is currently working on Irumbuthirai with Vishal. According to reports, Samantha is also in talks to star in the Telugu remake of 2 States with actor Naga Chaithanya.
