Cherubs will likely go on floors soon. The actress will begin to shoot her portions towards the first week of May. In a freewheeling chat with Silverscreen, the actress spoke about her passion for acting, academics and much more, and confirmed news of the Hollywood project.

“My shooting dates will be finalised soon and I will be flying to the U.S in May and to complete my portions and some endorsements as well.” The movie will be helmed by Christian Wagner and will also see Monika Sanchez, Annie Social and others.

The Engineering gold medalist was selected for an intensive acting programme at the Lee Strasberg Institute along with 10 others from various parts of the world. She could not be prouder of representing India on a global platform as huge as this. She said, “People over there think of Indians as extremely hardworking and we bring a certain warmth to our on-screen persona.” Her favorite professors urged her to believe more in herself. “I have the highest regard for Professor Sharon as she urged me to believe in myself and the rest would follow. The acting course was to make sure I had made the right choice of choosing acting over academics.”

Sakshi was quick to add how “method acting” proved an eye-opener for her acting dreams. “I wanted to focus on method acting, which is one of the 8 modes of acting. It lets you enjoy the craft and art of acting and has quite a liberating feel to it.”

On her next projects down South, the Yoogan actress is cautious about signing up projects; she isn’t up for masala potboilers anymore. “I am reading a couple of scripts in both Tamil and Telugu. Will be finalising a project with a big banner, soon. The script, banner, cast is extremely important to me and I do not want to be a part of a movie for the sake of it,” she further stated.

The MBA graduate thanked Silverscreen for being extremely supportive to her as she signed off.
