Saif Ali Khan Apologises For His ‘Nepotism Rocks’ Sketch At IIFA

Saif Ali Khan, Acting, Chef

After Varun Dhawan and Karan Johar admitted that their joke on nepotism and on Kangana Ranaut was ungraceful, Saif Ali Khan, who also participated in making fun of her at IIFA, has also apologised.

“It was just a joke, but now I feel, had we given it more thought, we could’ve really finished this ongoing public discourse on nepotism more decisively,” he told Mid-Day.

At the recently-concluded IIFA Awards in New York, taking actress Kangana Ranaut’s absence as cue, Karan Johar launched a tirade of jokes on Ranaut’s nepotism remark. Dhawan and Saif joined in too and have since been severely criticised on social media.

Varun Dhawan took to Twitter to apologise, while Karan declared that he will never utter her name or the word nepotism again

“I want to once and for all say and close this chapter after this, and subsequently I will not speak about nepotism nor Kangana because it would be distrustful for her and it would be ungraceful at my end, which I’ve already been. Nepotism is easy access, nobody can deny that, but what you do with that access is what moulds you into a professional,” he told NDTV recently. The director also admitted that the joke was his idea, and that he is to be fully blamed.
