Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty will reportedly make his acting debut soon. According to The Times of India, Resul will be starring in a film directed by Prasad Prabhakar titled Oru Kadhai Sollattumaa. The film will be titled The Sound Story in Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi.
He will be playing a sound designer who gets to cover the sounds at the annual Thrissur temple festival. The festival usually sees around 10 lakh people in attendance, so filming the whole bit proved quite a challenge to the team. However, director Prasad says that the highlight of the film is to cater to the visually impaired.

“This is a film that you can watch with your eyes closed. A lot of people cannot watch the beauty of the event. So, they don’t come for it. But this film will capture the sounds of the festival and will have a narration, which makes this an experience in itself. That makes it a never-been-attempted-before feat,” he tells TOI.
The team had to prepare themselves for the festival at least three-four months in advance, considering they couldn’t use drones or other gadgets since it would scare the elephants.
