Santhosh Bhatia, Tamannaah’s father, outright denied the rumours floating around. He said, “As of now, Tamannaah works in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. We have never had any discussion with anyone for a fourth language. We have not spoken about any project in Malayalam.”

It was widely reported that Tamannaah is part of the film after a Facebook account with director Sandhya Menon’s name shared a Malayalam report with this news. The director, while recently announcing the film, reportedly said that a “superstar south Indian actress” will play the lead, but he did not confirm the cast.

Sandhya Menon, the director of Mr Marumakan, Kilukkam Kilukilukkam, Onnam Manam Poomanam and other films, is the writer and director of Central Jayile Pretham. The film is promoted as a horror comedy set in a central jail, and has screenplay and dialogues by Amal K Joby, and production is by Indian Arts Studio. Reports say actors from Tamil and Malayalam industries are part of cast, but no official announcement has been made yet.

Tamannaah is currently busy with Petromax, her upcoming horror-comedy directed by Rohin Venkatesan. The shooting wrapped up in 42 days, and a first-look poster was released by Kajal Aggarwal in July, followed by a second poster released by Aishwarya Rajesh this month.

Yogi Babu, Munishkanth, Kaali Venkat, TSK, Sathyan, Prem, Sreeja, KSG Venkatesh and Baby Monica are part of the cast. The film is said to be inspired by the Telugu film Anando Brahma, and the posters also suggest this is true, but the filmmakers are yet to confirm this. Petromax is in post-production stages and release announcements are awaited.

Tamannaah is also awaiting the release of This Is Mahalaxmi, the Telugu remake of Queen, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, co-starring Chiranjeevi, Sudeep, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and others, and director Sundar C’s Action with Vishal in Tamil.
