Ram Gopal Varma To Make A Film On Gangster Nayeem

Director Ram Gopal Varma announced that he would make a film on former Naxalite and gangster Nayeem. The director made the announcement via a series of tweets on Tuesday.

Admitting that Nayeem’s story would be difficult to chronicle in one film, the director said that he will make it a three part film.

Nayeem is regarded by the Police as one of the most dreaded gangster in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh. He is wanted in over 100 criminal cases including the sensational killing of IPS officer K. S. Vyas.  After a brief stint as an informer, Nayeem went on to amass crores of money. In a police encounter, Nayeem was gunned down earlier this month, by the Telangana Police.

Ram Gopal Varma is known for his gangster thrillers and has directed several films such as Satya, Company, Ab Tak Chappan, and James. He is also working on a biopic on social activist Muthappa Rai who had connections with gangster Dawood Ibrahim.

Apart from this, Varma will also begin work on Sarkar 3 next month. The film is a sequel to Sarkar (2005) and Sarkar Raj (2008). Amitabh Bachchan will reprise his role in the project, and will begin shooting for his portions later this year.
