Actor Rajinikanth will be presenting 150 homes to the Sri Lankan Tamils who were displaced during the Civil War. The two-day long event organised by Lyca’s Gnanam Foundation, will take place in Jaffna, Sri Lanka on April 9.
Gnanam Foundation had constructed homes for the relocation of the Sri Lankan Tamils, as part of the ‘Lyca Housing Scheme’ in the Chinna Thampan and Puliyankulam regions (Vavuniya district) in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka.
A report in TOI states Raju Mahalingam, Creative Head of Lyca Productions, as saying, “When we approached Rajinikanth to grace the event as the Chief Guest, he readily agreed to be a part of the function.”
The 2.0 actor will officially hand over the keys to the Tamils in Vavuniya on April 10.
The actor is completing the shoot of Shankar’s mega-budget movie, 2.0, bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
