Vijay was the hero in his debut directorial Pizza. The buzz is that he plays the antagonist in the Rajinikanth starrer.
Speaking about the film, Vijay earlier told The News Minute: ““Thanks to the relationship I share with Karthik, I blindly signed the film.” On working alongside Rajinikanth, he said he would stay a silent observer and learn from the 67-year-old star.

Earlier, it was said that Simran would be the film’s main female lead, but an official announcement about the same is still awaited. This is Simran’s first association with both Karthik and Rajini. The actress, known for her histrionics and fine dancing skills, has been around in the industry for a while now, but substantial roles have eluded her post her comeback after marriage and motherhood.
The same poster also announced that Bollywood actor Nawazuddin had agreed to be part of the film; this will make his debut in Tamil. The actor, a known face in the indie film circuit, also has commercial hits to his credit. His performance in Netflix’s Sacred Games has come in for much praise. It is to be mentioned that in Rajini’s previous outing Kaala, the antagonist was another Bollywood import, the menacing Nana Patekar.
Interestingly, about two years ago, Karthik had tweeted to Nawazuddin asking if he had any idea to work in a Tamil film.

However, an official confirmation is still awaited.
