Rajinikanth And Kamal Haasan Confirm Participation In ‘Ilaiyaraaja 75’

In order to commemorate the music maestro Ilaiyaraaja’s 75 birthday, Tamil Film Producers Council is organizing a grand event — Ilaiyaraaja 75 — at YMCA grounds, Nandanam, Chennai on February 2 and 3, 2019.

Recently the actor Vishal and few members of Nadigar Sangam and TFPC invited actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. It is now said that both the actors have confirmed their presence for the event.

The committee member of the event is said to have met the actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan personally and invited them for the event, and the two have agreed to be there.

Ilaiyaraja 75 is being organized by the TFPC to commemorate the music maestro as well as to raise funds for the producers in distress. The curtain raiser for the event, held at the Mahindra World city earlier this month, was attended by the office bearers of the TFPC and other celebrities.

While, Vishal, Vijay Sethupathi, Arya and Karthi will be part of a 10 member actor group that will be part of the event, it is said that actors like Jayam Ravi, Jiiva and Vishnu Vishal will be attending the function. The move is aimed at increasing the footfall as the fans of these actors are expected to follow suit. These actors had earlier shared the promo videos on their social network handles.

“This felicitation has been a long time coming and we consider ourselves lucky to have had this opportunity,” said Vishal. “This is only the trailer. The actual program is going to be one of the best tributes to the living god Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja sir,” he had said about the main program.

Ilaiyraaja is expected to perform at the event. Apart from musical performances by other artists, the event will also witness a plethora of programs including dance and skits.

While the bookings for the tickets for the event has already started, where the first two tickets for the event were bought by Nassar and his wife, following which Microplex director Albert, producer and treasurer of TFPC SR Prabhu and Vishal bought ten tickets for Rs 2.5 lakhs each during the launch of the event.
