Raghava Lawrence’s third installment of the highly successful Kanchana series, will release on April 19. The makers of Kanchana 3 are about to wrap up shoot.
A source close to the film said in an IFlicks report, “There are only three more days of shoot left in the final schedule. The movie is on track as per plan and will hit the screens on April 19.”
Kanchana 3 is the fourth in the Muni series, and has been produced by Sun Pictures. The production house had also announced the film’s release date last month.

In addition to directing the film, Raghava Lawrence plays the lead. Oviya and Vedhika are the female leads. Vedhika had shared a still from the sets of the film earlier.

Kovai Sarala and Manobala reprise their characters from the previous movies. Muni starred Vedhika, Kanchana featured Raai Lakshmi, and Kanchana 2 starred Tapsee Pannu and Nithya Menen.
Lawrence had previously planned Kanchana 3 with a female protagonist. “There may not be a hero, and I am considering a lead female star. I am also retaining those who are relevant like Kovai Sarala madam who played my mother, Devadarshini, Manobala, and Sreeman in the fourth part as well,” the actor told Silverscreen.
“Just like Kanchana which addressed transgender people’s issues, in the fourth part, I have taken up a different social issue,” he said.
With the shoot of the movie nearing completion, there were plans to release a digital motion poster alongside the release of yesterday’s Rajinikanth-starrer Petta, also produced by Sun Pictures.
The Kanchana franchise has been very successful mainly for its popularity among children. It’s a horror-comedy, widely appreciated by family audiences.
