After a long guessing game, it has finally been confirmed that actress Radhika Apte is the female lead in Rajinikanth’s forthcoming film with Pa Ranjith of Madras fame.
The actress confirmed news, and said she was happy and excited to work with the superstar. Radhika’s previous Tamil films Azhaguraja and Vetri Selvan had bombed at the box office. The actress admitted that handling Tamil language was a challenge. According to her, the Rajinikanth-starrer has a very different subject. “Doing a film with Rajinikanth is great, and my role and director Ranjith have made it more special”, Radhika said.
The untitled Rajini-Ranjith film is expected to go on floors on August 10, and will be shot extensively in Malaysia, Thailand, and Chennai. Pa Ranjith recently commented that Rajinikanth’s character would be along the lines of ‘Kaali’, from the film Mullum Malarum. The film also has Prakash Raj, Kalaiarasan, and Attakathi Dinesh in the supporting cast.
