Producer Jhabak Issues Public Notice Against Sun TV

Nemichand Jhabak, who has produced Kollywood films for over two decades, has issued a public notice against Sun TV Network. The notice alleges that Sun TV had bought the telecast rights of 81 films from him in 2000, and the network has continued to air them on the channel ever since.

Recently Sun Network had filed a criminal case at the Saidapet Court against Jhabak for selling the rights of the aforementioned films at an unreasonable price. The petition sought the return of the money in exchange for the film’s rights. Jhabak moved the case to the Madras High Court and agreed to repay the money to re-acquire the rights. However, Sun Network did not made any representation during the hearing at the High Court. Consequently, Jhabak has issued a public notice against the media house. The 81 films in question are mostly films from the ’50s and ’60s.
