Priyanka Chopra-Farhan Akhtar’s Chemistry; A Tragic Premise Based On A Real Life Story… ‘The Sky Is Pink’ Trailer Out Now

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Farhan Akhtar’s chemistry in Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadake Do is among the film’s highlights. The two reunite in Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink as a couple that starts dating in India, starts a family (unexpectedly), moves continents and is struck by tragedy. Zaira Wasim (who was seen in Dangal) plays their daughter who’s unwell. The film is based on the life of Aisha Chaudhary, a motivational speaker who died tragically young (18) of severe combined immune deficiency (SCID). She passed away just hours before the launch of her book My Little Epiphanies at the Jaipur Lit Fest.

Shonali Bose (Margarita With A Straw, The Sky Is Pink) who too lost a teenage son and whose marriage ended soon after, wanted to make the film because she was “intrigued and inspired by the Chaudharys’ relationship. It is a rare couple who survive the death of their child,” she told Scroll.in, in an interview. She “also found them inspiring as parents, particularly Aditi, who was a tigress when it came to her kids and even took on the medical establishment boldly,” she said in the same interview, and also pointed out that this film marks the end of her trilogy on mother-child relationship and death.
