Actress Priya Prakash Varrier has signed her second Bollywood film after Sridevi Bungalow. Titled Love Hackers, the movie is about cyber security and crime, directed by Mayank Prakash Srivastava.
Speaking to Silverscreen, a source close to the actor said that the film was based on real life incidents, “It’s about cyber crime, and a straightforward story of a protagonist who is trapped in an unfortunate situation. By coincidence this is Priya’s second Bollywood film. We have been getting offers for Hindi films in addition to Malayalam.”
Love Hackers will be shot across various locations in Gurgaon, Delhi, Lucknow, and Mumbai. Initial work is likely to begin by May end, and more details will be announced soon.
According to a report by Pune Mirror, Bollywood director Mayank said in a statement that the film explores how online security breaches have made society complex today. “The number of social media users in India is staggering, but most of them are not aware of the different forms of cyber-crimes.” Mayank is currently looking for actors for other key roles, and said that casting an internet celebrity in a film on cyber crime was the clincher for him.
Priya Varrier is currently busy with the Prashanth Mampilly directorial Sridevi Bungalow, “95 percent of the film is over, and shoot will be complete in a week’s time,” the source said. The film has been mired in a controversy since its trailer released in January this year, with a scene mirroring the death of actress Sridevi. The makers said the re-creation was for publicity, and they were slammed for the references. Earlier, Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor even sent a legal notice to director Prashanth asking him not to use Sridevi’s name anywhere in the film.
Priya Prakash Varrier, who is busy with films in Tamil and Malayalam currently, shot to fame before the release of her first film Oru Adaar Love. A song from the movie became viral for shots of her wink. The film released in February, but did not fare well and also went through a controversy when the climax was re-shot and changed. There were reports about trouble between the director Omar Lulu and Priya.
