Priya Prakash Varrier Responds To Omar Lulu About ‘Oru Adaar Love’ Controversy

Oru Adaar Love star Priya Prakash Varrier responded to director Omar Lulu’s comment about her inability to handle instant fame, saying that she had chosen to remain silent because “karma would speak for itself.” The director had said that he was no longer in touch with the actress after her overnight success.

Varrier had shot to fame with her wink in the song ‘Manikya Malaraaya Poovi’ from Oru Adaar Love. She became a national phenomenon. “People in the industry find it hard to handle instant fame,” said Lulu in an interview he gave along with Noorin Sheriff, the other cast member of the movie.

He also said that several misunderstandings between the two of them led to a situation where they were no longer in talking terms. He spoke about being forced to rework the script at the producers’ insistence to accommodate Varrier, who initially only had a supporting role. “The instant fame the leads achieved made them unnecessarily conscious about themselves. Things went to an extent where these people, who were normally not bothered about the script, began suggesting changes in it,” added Lulu.

Priya Prakash Varrier, through an Instagram post, responded to Lulu’s claims saying that karma would speak for itself and that time was not too far. She also said that her side of the story would ruffle a few feathers.

Meanwhile, Varrier announced that the second trailer of her Hind debut Sridevi Bungalow will release on March 15. The movie is directed by Prashant Mambully and will be shot in both Hindi and Tamil. “The movie is a suspense thriller that paints the life of a Bollywood actress named Sridevi, played by Priya,” said the director.

The movie has been in a controversy since the release of its first trailer, which showed the protagonist’s life to be similar to late actor Sridevi’s. Following this, Sridevi’s husband, producer Boney Kapoor lodged a complaint. Director Mambully, while acknowledging the legal notice from Kapoor, said, “In the letter, he asked us to not use Sridevi’s name anywhere in the film. Our reply to him was that Sridevi is a common name across India and that’s why we have used it. There has been no further communication. I will face whatever controversy that comes my way regarding this film.”

“Sridevi is a proud name for all Indians. Even I am a fan of Sridevi. My film is a suspense thriller where Priya Prakash Varrier is playing a character named Sridevi. That is all I can reveal about the story right now. I would request everyone to watch the film to find out if it is based on real events or not,” he added.
