Pranav Mohanlal, son of veteran Malayalam actor Mohanlal, is all set to begin work on his debut film, a psychological thriller directed and written by Jeethu Joseph. Jeethu Joseph told the Times of India that the film is on track to begin shooting in June.
Joseph also rubbished rumours that the film would be about a serial killer. “I haven’t even finished the first draft of the script so any details about the movie right now would be premature,” he said.
The film will be produced by Joseph’s friend Antony Perumbavoor’s company Aashirwad Pictures.
Pranav is not new to acting. In 2002, Pranav made his film debut as a child artist in a guest appearance in the Thampi Kannanthanam directed Onnaman, starring Mohanlal. He played the younger version of the character played by his father. In the same year, Pranav won a National Award for Best Child Actor for his work in the film Punarjani (2002). He has also appeared in a cameo in Mohanlal’s film Sagar Alias Jackie : Reloaded(2009).
Incidentally, Pranav assisted Jeethu in two of his films – Life of Josutty and Papanasam. Jeethu, meanwhile, also has an untitled film in the pipeline with Pranav’s father Mohanlal.
