Prabhu Deva’s comedy film, Charlie Chaplin, which released in 2002, will now have a sequel. The actor will star in the sequel as well and it will be directed by Sakthi Chidambaram, who had also helmed the first one. Actress Nikki Galrani has been roped in to play the female lead.
“I am shooting in Kasi for Kalakalappu 2 and then I will head to Goa and start shooting for Charlie Chaplin 2. It is not a remake as it is being reported, it is a sequel,” Nikki told Silverscreen.
Charlie Chaplin, had Gayathri Raghuram as the female lead and the film was a remake of Yarukku Mappillai Yaro. Due to its commercial success, Charlie Chaplin was also remade in Hindi as No Entry, Telugu as Pellam Oorelithe and Malayalam as Happy Husbands.
