At a felicitation function for his mentor K Bhagyaraj, actor and director Parthiepan announced that he will produce Bhagyaraj.’s next film Bhagyaraj will direct the film, with Shanthanu in the lead. The last film Bhagyaraj directed was Siddhu +2 in 2010. At the event, Parthiepan said, “I want my director K Bhagyaraj sir to be back. I am very happy and glad to announce that my next production venture will be directed by K Bhagyaraj sir and have Shanthanu in the lead.”
Parthiepan began his career as one of Bhagyaraj’s associate directors in the late ’80s. He also appeared in an uncredited role in Bhagyaraj’s 1986 film Dhaavani Kanavugal. He then went on to become a successful actor and director in his own right. His last release was Kadhai Thirkkadhai Vasanam Iyakkam in 2014. Parthiepan’s next release will be Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga, which stars Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Parvati Nair. The film is set to release on 23 December.

Earlier, Parthipen had told Silverscreen that he wanted to make a film to thank Bhagyaraj, “I wanted to make a film worthy of Shanthanu’s talent. This is in part, my ‘Thank you’ to his father and my guru, director Bhagyaraj, and in part, to showcase Shanthanu’s talent. I’m eager for people to discover this actor’s new side.”
The director plans to work with Jayam Ravi next. He further said that he had written a woman-centric script with Deepika Padukone in mind.
