Director Mani Ratnam’s Oh Kadhal Kanmani and Biju Viswanath’s Orange Mittai will be screened at the 20th edition of the 10-day long Busan International Film Festival, in the category ‘A window on Asian Cinema’. The annual Asian festival focuses on new films and first-time directors, especially from Asian countries. The 2015 edition begins on October 1 and ends on October 10. Other Indian films at the festival include Meghna Gulzar’s Guilty (Talvar) and Neeraj Ghaywan’s Fly Away Home (Masaan). Guilty revolves around the widely publicised murder of 14-year old Aarushi, while Masaan is a love story set on the banks of the Ganges.

Mani Ratnam’s Oh Kadhal Kanmani focuses on live-in relationships and love. Starring Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menen, the film was a major success for Mani Ratnam, on the heels of two releases that had failed to impress audiences, Raavanan and Kadal.

Orange Mittai stars Vijay Sethupathi and Ramesh Thilak, and is directed by Biju Viswanath, who has several English and Malayalam films to his credit. This film is a road movie about the relationship between a 55 year old man and an ENT specialist.
