Nora Fatehi To Star In Varun Dhawan’s Dance Film

Nora Fatehi will be part of Varun Dhawan’s upcoming dance film with Remo D’souza. The film is yet to be titled. It marks the reunion of the ABCD 2 team comprising of Dhawan, D’souza and Shraddha Kapoor, and is said to be the biggest dance film of India.

Nora Fatehi is well-known for her item songs ‘Kamariya’ and ‘Dilbar’. She grew up in Canada, and started her career in Bollywood with the film Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans in 2014. She then took up dance offers in Telugu movies, and became famous when she was featured in the ‘Manohari’ song from Bahubali. She also starred in ‘Rock The Party’ by Mumbai Rockers, from the John Abraham’s Rocky Handsome.

After her dance numbers in Stree and Satyamev Jayate, the actor signed up for a role in Salman Khan’s upcoming film Bharat. Her latest is the film with Varun Dhawan.

Announcing this news, Dhawan wrote on Twitter, “She’s one of the most hardworking and driven human beings that I have ever meet. Welcome to the gang.”

When the movie was announced in March 2018, Katrina Kaif was supposed to star as the lead with Varun Dhawan. But Kaif had to opt out because her scheduled overlapped with Salman Khan’s Bharat, which is currently being shot.

A statement on her behalf read, “Katrina Kaif had to opt out of Remo D’Souza’s upcoming dance film owing to her hectic schedule for Bharat. Katrina has always been a thorough professional. She decided to step out of the film as her dates were clashing with Bharat, which she is currently shooting for.”

The original choice of lead actor for Bharat, however, was Priyanka Chopra. She was replaced by Kaif after she opted out of the movie because of her wedding.

The film also features Prabhu Deva in a prominent role. The supporting cast include Dharmesh Yelande, Raghav Juyal and Punit Pathak. The movie is produced by Bhushan Kumar. Shooting will reportedly begin by January 22, after Dhawan wraps up Kalank.
